Enterprise architecture beyond borders - Insights from a business journey in the Middle East
In recent weeks, I had the opportunity to embark on a professional trip that may significantly shape Bdat.’s future relationships with companies in the region. The purpose of the journey was clear: to explore new opportunities, build stronger collaborations, and establish a business network that creates value both in Europe and the Middle East. Alongside the Saudi Arabian delegation visit, I also held professional discussions in Qatar, which further strengthened our belief that the future of enterprise architecture relies on cross-regional cooperation.
Professional Dialogue in Doha – Joint Thinking on Enterprise Architecture
The first stop of the trip was Doha, where I had the pleasure of meeting Eng. Abdulaziz M. Ghaleb. It is rare to experience a professional conversation where perspectives and goals align so closely. Our exchange about the future of enterprise architecture, methodologies, and the developmental opportunities between the regions reinforced that there are numerous common points between Europe and the Middle East where it is truly worth building further.
Riyadh
One of the most inspiring meetings was with Omar Gawad. We discussed the current state of enterprise architecture in Saudi Arabia, the practical challenges of the TOGAF and NORA frameworks, and the growing importance of education in our field. Omar’s professional mindset and dedication are exceptional, and it is no coincidence that his YouTube channel, The Analyst Architect, serves as a valuable source of knowledge for many.

During the visit as part of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MKIK) delegation, the first day offered a unique blend of cultural and business experiences. The day began in the stunning historical setting of Al Diriyah, where we were able to experience Saudi cultural heritage up close. This was followed by a visit to MODON, providing valuable insight into their strategic initiatives and forward-looking developments. It became clear that Saudi Arabia is not only developing rapidly but is consciously building the industrial ecosystems worth connecting to.
The second day was already more business-focused. The B2B meetings held at the Saudi Chambers office provided an opportunity to directly present the Bdat.ACADEMY training portfolio, as well as Bdat.’s consulting services. The level of interest made it clear that the demand for practical, value-driven enterprise architecture is also growing rapidly in the Middle East.

Building Connections, Shaping the Future
Every meeting during the trip reinforced that professional dialogue and personal presence remain essential to deepening collaboration. The dynamism and future-oriented mindset of the Saudi market are truly inspiring, opening numerous opportunities in which we can also take an active role.
The next period will focus on further developing the professional connections established during the trip and working together on projects that create real value in the region.
