Service management advisory
- monthly working sessions
- quarterly executive review
- vendor-independent not tied to any product
An implemented ITSM is not a finished state. It is an operation. After go-live, processes begin to wear down: exceptions become habit, firefighting returns, only a fraction of the tool’s capabilities is ever used, and the reports fill up with IT metrics that tell the business nothing.
Service management advisory is continuous support alongside your running service management. In a regular rhythm we review the processes and the data, re-tune what has eroded, translate service levels and reports into business language, and support executive decisions with facts. We use ITIL® as a toolbox: we take from it the parts that actually work in your situation.
The same data, in business language
The reports stay; the language changes: the IT metrics start showing what the business gets, and at what cost.
When do you need us?
Processes erode back into firefighting
The order that worked at go-live wears down over time: exceptions become habit, and the team is back to ad hoc fixes.
The tool could do more
Only a fraction of the ITSM tool's capabilities is used: ticketing yes, but not the knowledge base, automation, or measurement.
Reports speak IT language
The monthly report is full of technical metrics, but leadership cannot see from them whether IT is serving the business well.
Our process
Shared rhythm
We agree how often we look and at what: a monthly operational picture and a quarterly executive review. It is the rhythm that keeps the system maintained.
Process fine-tuning
Starting from the data, we find where the process has eroded and fix the root cause, not the symptom. Typical areas: retuning the priority matrix and the escalation paths, cleaning up the category tree and the service catalogue, automating the steps still done by hand.
Tool and reporting
We uncover the ITSM tool's unused capabilities and translate service levels and reports into business language: what the business gets, and at what cost.
Executive decision support
For decisions on priorities, funding, and development directions we provide facts, measured against business weight.

Frequently asked questions
How is this different from the Service management assessment?
The Service management assessment is a one-off engagement: a maturity assessment and a target model. Service management advisory, by contrast, is continuous support alongside day-to-day operations. The collaboration typically continues this way after a diagnosis, but it can also start on its own. The assessment's map covering 34 ITIL® practices is the common language here too: fine-tuning any practice can fit within the frame.
Are we getting an ITIL® implementation?
No. We use ITIL® as a toolbox: we take from it what fits your size and situation. The goal is working service management, not full coverage of the framework.
Which ITSM tools do you know?
We are vendor-independent: the advisory is not tied to any particular product. We start from the tool you have, and first get out of it what you have already paid for.
In what rhythm do you work with us?
Typically monthly working sessions and a quarterly executive review. The effort adapts to the situation: after a more intensive phase it can drop back to a maintenance pace.
Do you take over running our service management?
Not on a lasting basis: process ownership and decisions stay with you. Temporarily, though, we can step into the operation as well, in an interim role or as an extension of your team, for example when a key person leaves or during an intensive period. The knowledge still is still built up on your side: we work so that the know-how stays with your team.
How we can work together
Fix Scope
Scope and fee are agreed together at the start. For well-defined work this is the most predictable form; the business capability map, for example, typically runs this way.
Time & Material
Effort-based billing with a flexible scope. It works best when the task takes shape along the way and quick changes of direction matter.
Architect as a Service
An ongoing arrangement: architect capacity without hiring a full-time specialist. It can be fixed-price and predictable, or ad-hoc involvement; it scales up or down as needs change.
